Scholarships for Students

The Mandela Rhodes Scholarship 2027 is a prestigious, fully funded opportunity for young African leaders to pursue postgraduate studies (Honours or Master’s degrees) in South Africa, combined with a transformative leadership development programme. It honours Nelson Mandela’s legacy by nurturing ethical, visionary leaders committed to reconciliation, education, entrepreneurship, and positive change across the African continent.

This scholarship goes beyond financial support — it equips recipients with the skills, courage, and community needed to address Africa’s challenges and foster equal opportunities for all.

Who Is the Mandela Rhodes Scholarship For?

The programme targets young Africans who:

  • Aspire to visionary leadership with moral authority, championing equality, freedom, human rights, and dignity.
  • Value reconciliation, believing it involves self-reflection, reparation, and using the past to build justice.
  • Combine intellectual excellence with strong character through education, using their knowledge to benefit others and society.
  • Show entrepreneurship through innovation, creativity, and effort to elevate Africa’s global role.

Scholars must commit to personal growth, openness to diversity, learning from differences, and embracing complexity. The scholarship supports a community of passionate leaders dedicated to Africa’s transformation.
